What is Process Work?
Process Work is an innovative approach to individual and group change, which combines psychology, spirituality and social activism into a single paradigm. Its broad-spectrum applications include psychotherapy, bodywork, relationship conflict and large group dynamics. Process Work was developed in the last 25 years by Drs. Amy and Arny Mindell who discovered that the dreaming process went far beyond our night time dreams and could be seen in physical symptoms, relationship difficulties, addictions, extreme states of consciousness, and social tensions. All of these dreamlike processes - when approached with openness and respect - can lead to new insight and an energetic shift that is vital for our development. With roots in Jungian psychology, philosophical Taoism, Zen and modern physics, Process Work is based on the assumption that the solution to a problem is contained within the disturbance itself. Recent developments have deepened the connection between quantum physics and process-oriented awareness training with the new concept of sentient reality and 24-hour lucid dreaming.
Mission Statement
Process Work Ireland is committed to facilitating individual and collective change in the world. To this end, we provide training programmes, public seminars, community development and education programmes, individual and group process facilitation and supervision. We also promote research in the field of Process Work.
We believe in awareness as a path to a deeper understanding of ourselves and our world. We are guided by a deep organising principle, the global dreaming, which is at the heart of life. We follow the concept of deep democracy, thereby facilitating the fullest expression of all voices and viewpoints, majority and minority, in every situation. We believe that every experience and every voice, no matter how disturbing, is meaningful and carries the seeds of its own solution.
Process Work, as an approach to facilitating change, presents a world view that is both holistic and challenging. It is of interest to those in counselling and psychotherapy, in education, community and social work, to leadership in corporate and political arenas and to religious and pastoral workers, in fact to every human being who is interested in world change.
